Default Shedding Issue with my AFT

Hi Guys,

I've had leopard geckos for years now, but just recently got a new AFT. After reading a bunch of care sheets, I set up my 20 gallon long tank with sifted Coco Husk (to keep all the particles really fine), two hides. One on the side with an UTH and one on the cool side. The temp gradient is low 90's to high 70's on each end. There's a a bunch of Mopani Driftwood and a few fake plants to make him feel secure and to make the tank look nice. I mist the cool end of the tank daily to keep the tank's humidity at appropriate levels. He has been going back and forth from the warm to the cool end to regulate his temp so he seems to know what he's doing.

He stopped eating 2 days ago and his shedding looks horrible. Unlike me leopards who seem to take their old sking and pull it off like a seater, my AFT looks like he has Exyzema (well not really, but he has patches of dry skin that seem stuck all over his body) I've been giving him baths and I also purchased some SHED-EZ from R-ZILLA to help him out. It's only been two days, is this normal or am I doing something wrong......?

I doubt its a nutirition thing because he has been fed on a steady diet of dusted crickets....he even has a UVB strip light that goes across his tank (I know its not necessary, but it was on sale...

Since he's new to you, you don't know what his shedding has been like in the past. If you got it from a pet store you may never be able to find out, but if it was a breeder, s/he may know. Otherwise, you may just have to mist and peel the gecko. It also may be a result of stress of new environment. I have a leopard gecko who usually sheds fine, but last summer she was in with a male who wouldn't leave her alone and she had a horrible shed. Once I moved her to her own space, her next shed was fine. If he's shed OK in the past, maybe the next shed will be better after he settles in.

It's been 3 days now....Is it too soon to try to manually peel him?
