Default Lighting question

I just bought a desert series Halogen/flouresent combo light fixture and I was wondering what wattage of lights I need. My tank is a 55 gallon that is taller then it is wide.

for a fat tail you dont need any wattage of light. fatties dont like light. however if you are using the light for heating, then you will need to get a thermometer and measure the temp to make sure its not too hot on the hot side. also, make sure the gecko can get to a cool spot, or else you might cook your gecko.

good luck.
