If you've been trying to breed them for 3 months, you probably got them started at the end of their season, unless you were able to see that they were ovulating. My geckos laid their first eggs at the end of Jan. and their last eggs in July, with maybe one who started late laying in Aug. If they weren't ovulating when you tried to breed them, they wouldn't be able to make and lay eggs. It is not clear that it's necessary to brumate them to improve their breeding chances. If you can make the cage colder with the frozen water, go ahead and try. It does seem to be pretty labor intensive. Either way, you should put the males and females together mid Jan. and see what happens.
