I've had my new female, 5 months old, about 36 hours now, and she hasn't eaten. When should I start worrying? I took the crickets out, so they won't mess with her. When should she be ready to eat?
Thank you,
Michelle
It can take awhile. I have found I'm likely to have more trouble with my fat tails eating than my leos, though the fatties are a small sample. One of my leos went 2 weeks with no eating and no poops when I first got him. I have a fattie that stopped hunting on her own when I moved her to the big tank in July and has just started hunting a few weeks ago (I hand fed her some till then). You can keep offering, or, after about a week, if you're really worried you can hold her and gently press a cricket against her mouth. Good luck.
Funny thing! I bought crickets half the size she should be eating and she wouldn't touch them for DAYS. Then, I tried a couple of the big ones the boys eat and she SCARFED them!
Now I'm worried about my big male. He hasn't eaten much in about 2 weeks. Is this normal? They're all in separate cages.
sometimes they stop eating. its annoying becuase it always makes me worried. i have a female that hasnt eaten in two weeks. i will wait a little more and see if she eats, she could just be starting to brumate (a little early i think). however, as long as she still has a fat tail i will not be worried. same for your dude. if his tail gets skinny, then get worried, but as long as his tail is still fat, he should be ok.
