Seperate them till January. Put them back together, in January, and you will probably see the male make advances on the females. He shakes his tail to show his interest. Females will probably just wait for him to come over. If the girls fight back, they aren't ready to breed. If he doesn't shake his tail, he's not ready to breed. It's pretty simple.
