stripe is just a different morph, and it is found in wild populations.

but it is not a dominant trait. the genetics of it are not well understood. sometimes stripe x stripe produces normals, and sometimes normal x normal produces stripes.

generally though, when talking to breeders, they treat the stripe as recessive.

i think it is most likely that there are different genetics that produce the stripes. meaning in some populations it is co dominant, and in other populations it is recessive.

I was wondering if it was a co-dominant trait, as exactly half my hatchlings had stripes like mum, and the other half were normals, just like Dad. Either way, it looks cool!

Striped fat tails tend to sell for a little more. My striped baby cost me $69 if I remember right, and I remember that his brother was stripe-less and was for sale for less (like 50 or 60).

Our female (non stripe) was $30 on sale and with a 25% discount and our boy (striped) was priced at $79.99 but I got it for free because I am friends with the owner and its probably a year or 2 old.
