AFT prefer to be alone or in a pair???

Hi everyone!

Ive got an african fat tailed gecko named pepe that ive had for about 2 years now.
He seems extremelly happy in his 3ft desert viv but I just wonder if fat tails actually prefer to be paired or live solo?
Any body got any ideas?

Considering that pepe is a male he really doesn't have much choice

I have always kept females in pairs or trios but males must live alone, unless you choose to put them in with a female during the breeding season. Even then, that arrangement won't be permanent.

My females seem to enjoy the companionship. A lot of people say that geckos are solitary and don't like living with others, but mine lay on eachother and have always gotten along quite well. They seem to enjoy eachother's company.
