Default Brumation or problem? I can't tell

I have had my AFT crew since the summer and they're all around 5 months old at this point. From what I have noticed they grow "out" and then "up". I'll notice that their tails are getting nice and fat and then they slim out after a growth spurt, fatten up, thin out, etc. When I kept fatties years ago I remember it being much the same way.

I am a little concerned right now because my most aggressive-eating female has stopped consuming food in the last two days. I weighed her and she isn't losing any weight but I am sort of uneasy about the fact that she has stopped eating. Her cagemate is still eating like a dish disposal so I am having a hard time telling if this is brumation or not.

Temps here have gone down significantly in the last two weeks which has made the inside of my house a tad cooler, but they still obviously have a heat pad and they both spend a good bit of time on the hot side of their cage.

I know this is the time of year for these geckos to start brumating but I am just uneasy that she has stopped eating and her cagemate is scarfing down food as usual. I have also noticed that her tail is a bit thin, but can't tell if this is just how she is growing or if I have reason to be concerned.

I don't see how she could have gotten coccidia or an entaomeba because nothing has changed, though I have heard some people mention that insects can, on rare occasion, carry parasites.

The coming days and weeks will tell me whether or not I have real reason to be concerned or whether or not she is sick. I am particularly sensitive because I lost my very first gecko (an AFT) to coccidia from a cagemate. This was several years ago- before quarantining became standard practice- but was a really difficult thing to go through.

Any tips or insight here?

Thanks.

My gecko pulled the same thing on me last week.
I'm in Canada, and the weather has gone down quite in bit here too.
It just started eating noticeably less and at one point just seemed completely uninterested in crickets.
Today however, after 4 days or so without offering food I decided it give it another go and the crickets are all gone.
I wouldn't worry too much, apparently they do this all the time.

Same thing for me , Outside temps dropped and my leo started to eat less. Until she wouldnt touch a cricket. I feeded her mainly mealworms since she eat them and she's nor starting to eat ocasional crickets , Not as much as she would usually but thats still better than none.
So in fact, even if the temps in the vivarium didnt changed , The animals can feel that its winter outside and will eat less than normal. If your Aft is still active and normally poop ( or a little less than usual , Less food = less poop ) dont worry.

She has indeed been eating...just at a slower rate.

Thank you both!
