Today I watched my male bite the skin on my female on her lower side and held on and I was told when they are ready to breed the male gives them "love nips" if this is true then maybe I will have some baby's soon.

Added question, at the start of brumation my male wasn't eating and my female was a pig then a couple weeks ago my female started eating less and less and she has not eaten in about a week and a half and my boy had not eaten in about a month without his tail getting thinner and then after a week without offering food today I threw in twenty to see how it would go and the male ate probably 7 or 8 and the girl did not want them at all but she just shed 2 days ago so maybe that has something to do with it?

love nip - sounds like it, but just to be safe i keep mine separate and only introduce them for breeding.

mine are in brumation right now also. sounds to me like yours are probably ok. however if you are worried then you should take a fecal into the vet.
