Are you thinking of using the perlite as a substrate to lay the eggs in?
It's not safe inside the enclosure. I know of some geckos who've eaten it and got sick or impacted, one died as a result. Just put a laying box (large hide box) with moist coco fiber or peat in the enclosure. They'll lay the eggs there. You can transfer them to the incubation container with perlite substrate to hold the eggs.
