Hello everyone! After doing months of research and setting up my tank, I brought my first fat tailed gecko home today. I named her "Bette" (think "Bette Davis eyes") and she's already settling in.
I'm observing her now and had no idea how entertaining she could be. When faced with a cricket, she raised her tail and wiggled it like some sort of rattling action. Then she sprang. The world has one less cricket in it. All this within 30 minutes of me bringing her home.
The good news is that the store owner I bought her from says she has eggs, and showed me her underbelly. Now I'm doing all the research I can because he says many people lose the babies due to lack of proper humidity. I may be new to fat tails but I like being challenged. I want to do my best and have hatchlings some day. I don't know what to expect or when to expect eggs though. Wish me luck. Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.
