Talking New AFT!! [& a question on temp.]

I've finally bought my male AFT, and I love him SO much. I got him from my local reptile shop, and currently have mulch substrate (which the owner of the store has had him on and gave to me), a hot hide, UTH, a little bowl with mealworms in it, and a water dish. (still have to get a few more things)

Now, I don't have anything to monitor temperature and humidity yet (I'm getting it on Tuesday, when I can buy a good digital one), but I felt the ground where his UTH is and it just feels warm. Is that okay, or should I be doing something more to make it warmer?

I just want him to have a happy life with me

By the way, it is a ReptiTherm UTH from ZooMed.

There's not much you can do till you get your thermometer. If it's too hot, the AFT will often go to the cool side. Just check floor temp on the hot side when you get your thermometer and if it's too hot get a thermostat or at least a rheostat.
