I just bought a male who is five months old. I've had two females for a while that are 15 and 19 months old. Would it be safe to breed these when the male is six months old?
I'm not entirely sure a 6 month old male will be mature enough to produce anything viable. I know people do breed fat tails in Dec, but I cool my fat tails from mid Nov-Jan and the females ovulate around Feb. If you do it that way, he should definitely be ready to go.
