RE: Fat Tails and .... Menopause?
I've had my Marv for three years now, and from what the previous owner told me, she should be eight years old. But, I don't think that's even right. (I think she's even older than that).
The females also go through menopause, like people. They stop ovulating. So, if Marv was younger than menopausal age (what age is this?), would she be laying infertile eggs at any point in her life? (Or, do the unfertilized ova get absorbed somehow by the body? (In women, even fertilized egg can be absorbed by the uterine lining).
In the three years I've had her, she's never once laid any eggs - and she's always had a most hide, which is where I would expect to find them, if females did rid their bodies of unfertilized ova via laying - I just assumed that if they aren't breeding, then the ova don't fully develop and get reabsorbed.
So, the better question is, where do these unfertilized ova go?
