One of our male E. agricolae was pretty pissed at me today while I was cleaning his cage, so he decided to go ahead and excrete a sticky fluid from his tail, like Strophurus. I know this has been documented, but it is a first for me. It was somewhat clear, sticky, and smelled like fish oil. It took three good hand washings to remove the smell. Good times :D

Bobby, can you describe the smell? It is definitely distinct and had a bit of a fishy smell to it.

It seems funny to me for as far apart in the world as Eurydactylodes and Strophurus are found in the wild that the secretion they produce smells exactly the same (at least it does to me). I've had Eurydactylodes and most of the Strophurus species "squirt" me and they all have the same smell. There's nothing else I know of that smells quite the same, but to me, it smells something like the sap from a juniper tree.

Nathan, were the excretions from the same places as on the Strophurus tail?
