I just received a 1.4 group of viper geckos from JMG Reptiles. These little guys are so cool and they're already chowing down on crickets. I have them on paper towels right now, but I'm eventually going to set up some naturalistic enclosures. What brand of calcium carbonate substrate would you all recomend? Maybe I'll break some slate tiles and just use the calcium carbonate to fill in the cracks between slate pieces. Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

AWWW how cute...I have two vipers. I don't think any loose substrate is good. They can get impacted. I know it may look better but you don't wanna risk their little lives. I use repticarpet and papertowel. They pooh on the papertowel. Good luck!!

I use calcium carbonate used for construction with my leos and vipers.. just ground up lime stone and vipers can burry their eggs in it, so you go dig them out and incubate them. Babies are a pain to raise though, but they are super fun.

i've used sand of all sorts of sand and have NEVER had any problems. I know some people have, but I've been keeping geckos for over 10 years, and have had no problems
