I've been absent for a while. (Nathan decided to lock me out of the board for a while because he's mean ;) ). I picked up a few new geckos since then and I just thought I'd post some pics. None of them are actually rare and many are not even uncommon but they are nice species :D

Here they are:

This is a female Agamura persica (she's not new). She is in the process of laying eggs so she was basically telling me to ... well you know.

This is Cyrtopodion scabrum

This is Pristurus carteri (she's not new)

This is Ptyodactylus guttatus

Some more Ptyodactylus sp.. Not sure what it is; maybe more guttatus.

This is Stenodactylus petrii

This is Stenodactylus sthenodactylus

This is Tropiocolotes sp.. I'm not sure which.

Nice new geckos mike, how long have you had the p. carteri? I've had my eye on some for a while but cannot make up my mind as to whether they are worth paying out for, as they are fairly expensive (and uncommon) over here... not sure if they cost a fair bit where u are. Strange how in some pictures they look amazing and others they dont look nice at all, seems to be no inbetween pioctures lol (yours is one of the good ones by the way   )... Have yet to see some in real life :(

Hey, Kus,

The gecko in the pic is from late last year but I have had scorpion geckos since 2003. They have to be one of the hardest geckos to get clear and good pics of. I rarely ever get one worth posting. If you are looking to get into them, I would wait for a while. The Reptiles Magazine article came out in the summer of 2005 and since then they are starting to appear all over the place. There are breeders in Germany I think. Right now they are pretty costly in the UK. I think someone on one of the UK boards (not GW) recently purchased a pair and paid a hefty price. But I expect they will drop as more people get them.

The price for us in Canada is relatively low. There is only one breeder here but we pay less than almost every US price I've seen advertised (of course this doesn't mean some of the US breeders don't sell for cheaper at shows and such).

I cant even remember ever seeing them advertised over here to be honest so cant even think of the rough pric,e i ahd only heard of a couple of people who'd paid a lot for them. I cant remember seeing them at any of the shows I've bene to in Germany either, but then as I cant afford to pay that much for a species i want less desperatly than others lol I wasnt looking for them to be honest, and we all know how easy it is to miss things at shows!

Well you would probably find them for a lot less if they are from German breeders. It's the big import costs that make them so expensive. They aren't really that special (although that's easy for me to say since I keep a few). I think the UK ones came from Canada.

I remember seeing some of the scorpion geckos at a show here in the SE US about 3 years ago.. carried a price tag of 150-200 each I believe.. but very nice geckos, fun to watch.
