Cool pics. I especially like the first one. It's pretty cool to see geckos able to take down pinkies so well. I've never had any luck getting any of mine to take them down.

i just tap them in the face with it, till they bite it, and then they take it down easily.

Do you kill them before that?

no, but i feed them head first, so theyre killed after the first bite.

Our Leachie will take pinkies only occasionally, and only if cut into pieces first, never tried the gargs though.

you cut them up? what size leachie do you feed the "pecies" to? that striped auriculatus [pictured] is like 15-20g. my male [also pictured] will take down decent sized fuzzies no problem. i couldnt imagine feeding pieces, yeesh, i get grossed out when they bite them and their belly bits hang out.

The leachie is a fully grown male but he's a very fussy feeder - he needs to smell the blood before he will eat them (obviously they are dead before cutting them up!)

sometimes i brain them live, if im first introducing them. and that will get them to figure it out. but then i just feed whole after that. they bleed when they bite them, so thats all the stimulating they really need.

what? it gives them a taste for pinky blood and insides. which i assume are mighty tasty, and help them go after it/eat it. its like scenting a rodent when switching a snake.

Amyae adore pinkies as well. My large girls will eat 2-3 at a sitting. Yummmmmm
