Very nice Brian that you have got eggs of G. Smithii.
Is this species comparable with G. Gecko when you talk about care?

Greetings David

I don't really know enough on the others to really comment on this. I have been keeping them with generalized Gekko care though. I took the view that they were "shy forest tokays" versus generilzed disturbed area lizards. So I assume the answer is yes.

Top egg is about ~two months old, bottom two are new.

Thought I would share this picture of Dad guarding his eggs.

How long does he keep that up? My other one has no interest in the eggs.

Both parents will guard the eggs till they hatch. Then they guard the hatchlings. They will leave the log but if it looks like I am going to get to close they run in the log to guard them. Tokays are very protective parents.

I envy you. I had no luck with them. My male died of cryptospirosis some years ago and I never found another. So as of today as since years, I do only have a single female.
