The female looks rather fat to me so I wanted to ask opinion of some breeders who know evolution of growing tokays

First a pics from her when i got them out of the pet store (they seemed rather skinny to me :( so i started feeding them crickets & a pinky once a month )

Now a month later

Male wants to wave, 4 cute paws at the same time :P He only got a bit taller and gained only a bit of body.

both got a fatter tail so that's good, but the roundings of the female got me wondering.

Feed them more. They still look a bit on the skinny side.

You dont want to over feed them when they are really skinny it could make them sick. She looks like shes just full. A good healthy female is sort of hard to tell if she has eggs. Unless you can see them threw her belly if shes on the glass and light is going threw her. I have never seen eggs threw my girls stomach.

If you can get them to eat them try some super worms. They will help put weight on them.

I ment silk worms. . but super worms will work too.

Nuggular - I can't work miracles I can't get them on max weight in a short time, starting from their original weight

I feed them the amount they are willing to take.
Only the male doesn't take as much as the female.
I'll get back to hand feeding him, it worked with a pinky so I'll try feeding him waxworms and a pinky next week.
Thnx guys.

stoph, I didnt mean to come off bad there. Your concerns seemed like you were worried about feeding, so I just mentioned that they were still skinny and should be fed more often. Or offered more food. The female is looking much better. The male just needs to put on a few.

I understand I'm just surprised she gained so much weight in a short time while the other one didn't. Hope i can get him to eat more by offering him some other grub. We'll see.

Most of the Tokays you find in the pet store are wildcaught, and wildcaught animals often carry lots of parasites such as worms.
Perhaps a vet can check on their feaces for parasites, or you can dust the food items with panacure or another suitable wormmedicine.
