View Full Version : S. williamsi breeding Q

OK folks, here's a question. I introduced my williamsi male with my female about the 22-23 of September. Now assuming they copulated(didn't actually witness anything), what is the time frame for gestation? When should I be looking for any action in the nesting box? Just wondering if anybody has ever documented the time between copulation and laying. I know its late and I just had one of those moments. Thanks ahead of time for anyone who answers.

2-5 weeks normally. she'll get huge and look ready to pop before she drops eggs, but start checking the nest box every other day or so when you start seeing signs of pregnancy.

Just wait until she looks really fat and then when she lays the eggs she will look way smaller. You wil know when she lays them.

it's completely obvious like Cole said. Eggs for this species are huge compared to their body size. It would be like a crested laying leachie eggs....
