Question What is my Gecko?

Hey,

My mate the other day found a gecko in his garage eating half a tub of chocolate Yogo and gave it to me. I am unable to work out what type of gecko it is I have been surfing the net trying to find out. I think it is either a Marbled Gecko (Christinus marmoratus) or a Velvet Gecko (Oedura lesueurii). I've seen convincing pictures of both and i'm fairly sure that it's a Marbled Gecko. I was just wondering if a Gecko-Pro would be able to confirm this for me so I can find an appropriate care sheet. I like this little fella, and I want him to survive. Any help or suggestions for his care would be a bonus also.

Here is a picture I took shortly after I got him/her...

He hides under the stuff I have put in hit tub, I think he is nocturnal. He is in there with another small lizzard... (an Eastern Three-Lined Skink) Would that be a problem?

By the way, how do you tell the sex of a gecko? Or of this particular type of gecko? Do they even have gender?

Location: Melbourne, Australia.

Thanks heaps,

icePiK

It's a Marbled Gecko (Christinus marmoratus). Common in Melbourne.

its actually illegal to keep it, you are better off putting it in a park or bush surroundings.

What's yogo? Is that like Fro-yo, or Frogurt? You should talk to the girl in the leopard gecko forum, she was feeding her 'mentally retarded' gecko pancakes with syrup and canadian bacon, think you two may hit it off!
