I've just had two o. monilis hatch out this week. The second one in particular has some markings around its eyes which I found a bit strange seeing as the adults markings stop around the top of their neck area, and the only other hatchling I've had from them had no patterning at all on its head area. I've been googling pictures of hatchlings and haven't seen any that have markings like this so far up their body. Has anyone else hatched out anything similar?


This is the first hatchling. There's some definite yellow around its eyes but nothing like as strong as the second one.


It's probably not the best angle to see it from, but to me it looks kind of clown like!

What do you think? Should I hang on to this one and see what it turns out like as an adult?

(Oh, I should add, it's definitely a marking on the skin and not stuck shed or anything like that.)
