Default Let the Hatching Begin...

Here are a few pictures of this season's hatchling S.c.ciliarus. Two are displaying deeper darks making for some nice contrast, also showing up with more clearly defined diamond shapes on the back. Looking forward to seeing the contrast holds up as they get older. The sire was bred at 8 months ( dame is rolling in at 7 years ). Still waiting for one to pop out with a surprise resessive for that killer European yellow tail look!

Beautiful hatchlings, well done! How long did they incubate for?

Thanks, Justin. The first one of the season hatched out at 60 days, the other two hatched out at 65. My average last season was probably around 63. How does that match to your experience?

Good luck! My hatch rate has been pretty good so far. A few that looked off from the beginning have molded, but anything that looked good from the start has hatched. I don't think incubation is too complicated for these guys. I've heard it said that ciliarus can hatch as early as 55 days, but I don't think I've hatched one earlier than 58 or 59, and I think my temps are pretty high due to the ambiant in my southern exposure, high desert reptile room, maybe a range of 79 -87f. Look forward to some pics when yours hatch!
