I know that strophurus can be kept in trios, but I'm not sure about the Phyllurus and Saltuarius. It's cage size dependent, even if they don't need that much bigger space if you want to have one more female for example. But I think the reason why a lot of people keep their geckos individually is because its easier to keep track of how much they are eating and make sure they are healthy and doing well.
