Light and dark phase.
We wanted to know how the light and dark phase of S. ciliaris works.
We have Rhacodactylus ciliatus and they have a "fired up" and a "fired down" phase. At day time they are Fired down, and pretty dull in color. When it's night and we just misted the viv, or when hunting, wanting to mate or if they are stressed out they will Fire up. Their colors are more vivid and darker compared to their day color.
How does this work with Strophurus ciliaris? When are they light and when are they dark? It this related to their mood?
We have seen the male go from white to rusty red/brown but the female is dark since we got her. They don't seem to be stressed.
Hope someone can clear this up for us.
