They were a little bit dehydrated when we got them, but they were in good shape.

Yes, they started eating right away.
From the next evening we got them they immediately started taking crickets.
The male is still a little bit skinny, but all male Strophurus are a bit smaller/skinnier then the females, from what we've seen.
