Hey guys,

I'm excited to be working with reptiles again! At what age is Strophurus taenicauda sexually differentiable? Is there a higher likelihood of acquiring a specific sex over the other (in other words, are females or males more common)? It is to my understanding that males possess two "spikes" which protrude from either side of the upper part of the tail/vent region, as well as a hemipenal bulge, is this correct?

Hi Adam

With our Strophurus we see the sex at about 5 months shure.
With 3-4 months it is not certain.
I'm mostly a balanced breeding, with currently more females.
This is certainly dependent on the incubation temperature.
