I think weight is more important than age to a point. If you have a female that develops well and is a little less than a year old, it's probably safe to breed her. Generally about a year is a safe bet. My breeder females are about 40 +/- 3 grams. I think once a female reaches 35 grams she should be safe. Males can breed when they are ready, meaning placing the pair together and when he's ready, he will show it.

Good luck!

40 grams? I always thougth that 20 gram was a good breeding weight for a female milii.
In this topic someone says 20 grams is okay Breeding milii?
Someone knows the answer for sure? I doesn't want to breed my milii's to early.
Thanx!

Jasper

I've got a female that is considered huge, and she only weighs 28 grams. It seems 40 is a bit of a stretch for the milii I've seen and anything I've read. Could it be you're thinking of some other gecko breeding weights (like leopards) ?

You guys are right. I had been up for over 24 hours moving and I looked at the wrong documents on weights and sizes. My breeder females are between 22-25 grams. And yes, I think the 20 gram threshold is a safe starting weight.

Sorry for the confusion.
