I noticed whenever I turned on the 40W infrared bulb on the ceiling, the amyae and levis (especially the levis) will go straight back to hide deep under the wood. And will not come back out unless I turn off ALL lights. Are their eyes more sensative to light than leos? My raptor and DB (suppose to have more sensative eyes) do fine under the same lighting.

Or do you think they're just hiding from me, not the light? How often do you see them anyway, because I hardly see them at all! Anyone with an amyae or levis that will come out in the open when someone is within their sight?

Ok, I have only had them since Thursday, maybe they just need more time to get used to me?

Don't woryy in the beginning they are very shy animals . My levis are always active when the lights are of and don't get scared . The amyae are even worse the male just comes towards me to bite . I think that your animals just need more time to settle down .
In the past I also used those "infrared" lights because it is told that reptiles don't see the red light . One day I came home from a party(around 02.00) and I used this light with my Furcifer pardalis as night heating . I noticed that the animal was walking around just as if it was in normal daylight . So in my opinion I don't think that the red light is invisible for your animals .
