I take this opportunity to ask you a question about sand.
My 1.1 n. milii breed very slowly (one egg on March 17 and also sterile, another single egg coming in these days after more than two months) and eat not much...
I keep them on grassmat because I had the same problem with the sand as with the n. wheeleri (the sand was the same with big grains)...
Do you think that those problems may depend on the lack of sand?
Do you suggest putting them on the same fine sand of the wheeleri?

those problems don't have anything to do with not having them on sand. Your female may not be able to produce fertile eggs, it can happen Some animals aren't as hardy as others I guess is all I can say about that really. I keep my n. milli on a mixture of sand and pete moss and they are doing ok, not great. They only eat one cricket every other day which seems really little to me but they are plump and healthy looking. I am not so convinced that they will breed as milli are generally very good eaters. The only animal that tends to have problems with sand impaction is the leopard gecko as it's common for them. All the Australian geckos do good on quality fine sand. I wouldn't use the reptile mat, but I think it is better that the milli have the mat than the wheeleri. You can ask me whatever you'd like, you can PM me too if you want

thank you so much Oli, you're very kind and patient...I think that your argument is very logical, and i do think too that those problems dont depend on the lack of sand, but maybe i can try go get the situation better if i change the substrate...it's only an hypothesis.
Those milii weigh 25gr each, they are good shaped, I cant explain why they dont do well in breeding as they should...But maybe we're going out topic, i'll open a new one in the right section, with some pics of the pair and the coming egg (crossing fingers)!

thank you again
