Default heat mat help please

hi i bought a heat mat today and im not entirely sure on how to set it up i know the basics. probe thermo where i want the hot spot. my question is i have ceramic tiles for it but have no idea where to put them do i put them under the mat on top( then what goes under it) or do the tiles go under the sand in the enclosure. i did a search and didn't find a definite answer. if someone could help me figure this out it would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I don't understand what are you talking about when you mention those ceramic tiles??

Two things are important to have:
heat mat/ heat cable
termostat with probe (to put inside hot shelter)

sorry, now i understand (thanks to google translations)

I dont think you will need to use tiles at all! Don't forget that you live in australia where they come from, and so I dont think that your house can so cold that you need other items than the mat! Test the vivariums for the two youngs, you need 30degrees in the hot half!

In all my terrariums I put inside the cable (don't use the mat), and then cover it with sand or grass mat depending on the species. Then I put the probe always under the hot shelter and I setup the termostat at 29/30degrees...that's all. if you need I can take a pic.

So you're fine! But I'd suggest not to use only a thermometer with probe, but even a termostat you can connet the mat to!
