Default Greetings

Just wanted to say hello. I haven't kept any geckos in probably about 12 years or so. Just getting back into it now with a pair of N. amyae and two pairs of N. l. levis. I'll hopefully add a few more species in the next few months to get back on track. Talk to you all in the forums.

Steve

Geckos, .... you just can't stay away from them for long.
You wouldn't be "the" Steve, past president of the GGA, would you?

Way back in the 90's when I really started getting into geckos, I wasn't sure if it was a worthwhile hobby or not. When I finally got a computer and online, I discovered your gecko list and signed up. That's when I found out it was a good hobby, not just for men as I'd been told, but we women were into it too. Your list was a godsend, I got so much good info that I plunged into the hobby full force, and ignored the suspicion that it was a highly addictive thing.

All these years I've secretly been blaming you for my gecko addiction. Thank you!!

Hilde ~

Way back in the early 1990s somebody told you geckos were for "men only"!

The only suitable pets for us female types, according to my family and friends, were cats, cute birds and maybe fluffy dogs. Those 'creepy reptilezzzzzzzz' were definitely men only. A few family and friends still refuse to come here with 'those things' living under my roof. That's okay, I haven't missed their company.

Hilde ~

Many thanks for sharing. So it was "friends and family"! Oh well, what they don't know can't "hurt" them...!

Hilde,

That was certainly a fun list to run. Lots of good stuff came out of that. Hard to believe that I am starting from ground zero again. My 6 year old son has already named the 1.1 N. amyae and the 2.2 N. l. levis so I think I've got him hooked. My 3 year old daughter digs them as well, so it is 3 against one with my wife. She doesn't mind them so much, but I don't think she knows what she is in for.

Steve
