Default Nephrurus wheeleri

Another of the species I recently photographed for my website... Nephrurus wheeleri. I raised up this pair from babies and they are now producing for me. I have 4 eggs in the incubator that are looking good and the female is looking gravid again. The male got pretty feisty during the photoshoot and stalked the camera the whole time. It was both humorous and embarrassing when I almost dropped the camera the first time he lunged for the lens.... OK, so I did drop the camera, but in my defense I was shooting in supermacro mode and he looked much scarier through the lens LOL.

The female

The male... "I will kill you if ever I can catch you!"

Interesting scalation pattern on head

Congrats! They look great, and it sounds like they have plenty of personality

Regarding the 'scalation pattern,' it might just be left over shed

Thanks,

On the scalation pattern, I wasn't necessarily referring to the few little "shedding flakes" or whatever they are, I was just referring to the overall pattern of scales around the eyes, nose, etc...

The male hasn't really exhibited any attitude until this photoshoot, but he definitely decided he didn't like the camera... although you can't really tell from his "cheesy smile" LOL.
