just got 2 eggs.
should i keep inside of the container to 83 F
or keep inside of the incubator to 83 F?
and if i want to keep container to 83 F, what's the normal temperature in the incubator, higher or lower?

I keep mine in the container with lid inside the incubator. Haven't hatched an egg yet though. I don't know about your last q.

I just hatched my first and second clutches with 100% hatch rate after incubating at a target temperature of 82.6 degrees so I would vote for slightly lower, but your experience may vary....

for past 3 days, the temp between container and incubator is most same. should be good!
btw, do u put water bowl inside the incubator in order to get humidity right?
Right now, humidity inside of incubator is 45% and around 70% inside of container.
is it ok?

Hi. I have hatched U. milii and N. levis levis.
I keep the eggs sitting on damp Vermiculite (damp, not soaking wet) in a plastic take-away container.
Temp in the container is around 28C (82.5F). I would expect that the temp in the incubator is slightly higher.
My U. milii eggs hatch around 60 days (give or take a few days) using this method.

What sort of eggs are you incubating?

thx for tip. i got 2 N. levis levis eggs, and you're right, the temp in the incubator now is slightly higher.
more questions: i do have few holes on both container and incubator, do i have to open them weekly for air ventilation？do i also need to add water to container once a while in order to keep humidity right? appreciated any answers.

My containers are completely sealed - no holes in the lids or containers.
I try not to disturb the eggs at all during incubation. If the vermiculite is prepared correctly, it should stay damp throughout the incubation cycle.

Also, when placing the eggs into the container, I try to lay them exactly as they were found in the nesting box, ie: carefully mark the top of the egg with a texta/Niko so you know which way to place them in the incubator.
Turning the eggs can disturb the embryo and kill the embryo gecko.
