Default egg-laying substrate depth for amyae??

Hi all
I have had a N. amyae pair for some time. The couple has mated. And now she has started digging. I have made an egg-laying box with about 3 inches of moist peat/sand mix - But im concerned, that maybe the depth isnīt enough. How deep would you guys recomend? She has been digging for 5 days now, so im getting a bit concerned.

By the way, its the first time she has been mated, and its also her first clutch.

Let me hear what you guys think.
Regards
Kenneth

3 inches is enough . I have the same amount in my box and they are happy to use it .

About 6cm coconut fibre in my amyae's laying box. This should be pretty the same as 3 inches. Just be patient... the female ones are digging about 7 days before laying eggs.

Hi all.
So last night i made a slightly bigger box for her, placed in the same corner as before, with about 1-2 cm. exstra moist peat/sand mix. Last night she started digging again, and this morning i found 2 very nice looking eggs.
I have placed them in damp vermiculite. Temp about 26.5 C. So now ill just have to wait.
How long should it take, before they hatch? And how long should i wait, before i put the male back in her terrarium? (the couple didnīt do well together)?

Thanks in advance for the replys.

Kenneth

At 26,5°C it should take more than 100 days to hatch. All about 3-4 months. I only wait 7 days after laying to get them mated again. At this time I push her weight a bit up with some fat dubia roaches.

Hi Fanataic
At which temperature would you recomend hatching them? I think its hard to find good caresheets on this species.

Last season I incubated them at 27°C an there was a ration of 2:3 (f:m). This year I am trying 26°C, 'cause there might be more females. I will figure out this claim and post the results later on.
