I am not sure if females are ALWAYS darker than the males. But, they do tend to be darker for me.
I do not think it is possible to sex them based on color. There are males that are very dark as well. I have no special technique to sex them, just the usual: wait till 4-5 months and look for pores with loupe and hemipenis bulges. I know other breeders can tell earlier tho...
