Default which ones best?

I am thinking of getting a nephrurus gecko. I have rhacs and a leopard gecko right now and am thinking it would be interesting to have a couple of desert type geckos. I am wondering what people would recommend as a first. I like the looks of an amyae but do not know much about them. any advice is appreciated

Hi Mike,

you just can`t go wrong with Nephrurus and especially the rough skinned species are quite easy. N. amyae is a really nice species and does well in captivity. Typical "starters" are N. wheeleri and Underwoodisaurus/Nephrurus milii. The N. wheeleri fits better in a desert-style terrarium (dry, warm, moist and somewhat cooler hides) and U. milii in a more moderate setup (dry, not as warm as N. wheeleri and as also cooler and moist hides). They all accept a wide range of feeder insects and should just be supplemented as your leopard geckos.

I hope this helps
Karsten

My vote: Nephrurus Amyae or Nephrurus Levis Levis
