cages
I have come acroos a situation of having a nice size collection and how to keep everything organized and easily accessable for cleaning and feeding. I orginally used sliding screen top cages but once a shelf was full of these cages it made it a pain to feed and clean because the cage would have to be removed from the shelf so the top could be opened for feeding nightly. Imagine having to remove a large amount of cages every night or every other night. Not only would the cages have to be removed off the shelf but the lights would have to be placed aside while the cage was removed from the shelf. I have been messing around with different ideas and have come up with making a flip front door to the cage which will allow access to the cage without having to remove it from the shelf. I have also still kept the sliding screen top for easy access during cleaning. I am considering making these modified cages available to other reptile keepers so I would like some input as to what you think about them. I can pretty much make any size cage, the biggest down fall is that shipping might be expensive for anything larger than a 10 gallon. I have included a picture of a small 5 gallon which is what I use for small species or hatchlings.
