Coleonyx variegates morph and subspecies questions
Hey guys,
I’m relatively new when it comes to Coleonyx variegates subspecies and different morphs and I would like to get a better understanding of them. Currently I have two Coleonyx variegates which were sold to me as Tucson Banded Geckos (C.v.bogerti).
One of the biggest questions I have with the subspecies is how do you tell them apart without knowing the historical background on an individual gecko, if it’s possible.
Morph wise it seems there is only a few different morphs:
Hypomelanistic
Albino
Patternless ( Phases, morph or colour to Coleonyx variegatus)
Striped ( Phases, morph or colour to Coleonyx variegatus)
Leucistic ( Phases, morph or colour to Coleonyx variegatus)
For Morphs, do they appear in all Coleonyx variegates or only in some subspecies? Also does anyone have pictures of a Patternless, Leucistic, or Stripe Coleonyx variegates?
Thank you for your help,
Kyle Johnson
