Default Barefoot geckos ( Coleonyx switaki). Keepers?

I know that you have to have a permit to catch and obtain this spieces but is anyone working with them? just wondering. im probably going to drive to california this year and go down to southern San Diego and am thinking about seeing if i can get a permit to get some and hopefully breed them. please post pics im sure every one would love to see them!

You cannot get a permit to collect C. switaki in California... they are a protected species. Besides, they are VERY rare to find (that's why they are protected!)

oh. ok thanks! then agian i was reading a oct. 1997 reptiles magazine when i read that you had to have a permit. laws change. i live in indiana so im not as up to date on the laws even though i go to california every year.

There is a permit, however it is given to people doing a study on the species. The permit is not given to hobbyists for breeding.

beautiful species..... but the closest you'll probably ever get to one is in a field guide. I've only personally seen 3.
