This is one of the Coleonyx genus who needs a relatively moist habitat. For the substrate, prefer shaegnum or peat for the most of the terrarium, with a part more dry with sand.
The other specie who lives in more tropical environment is Coleonyx mitratus, the other species seems to prefers more arid environment.

Probably, I prefer peat because of its acidity which prevent mildew.

wouldn't do it. Dendros need it too moist, elegans just need high humidity, not moisture.

I highly reccomend against keeping amphibians with reptiles.

Yes, but there is one specie we can breed with dendro, it's the Lepidodactylus lugubris. A lot of dendrodates beeders like to have a Lepido in the terrarium in France, don't know if it's the same in others countries. And personally, I've never try.

But for the Coleonyx, like Passport said, it's an idea you can forget.
