Cooling question
I have been planning on cooling my 1.3 C.v.b. colony from about 11/30-1/15. HOwever, I see the male still mating with the females and at least one of them is obviously gravid. The 3 females (not sure which ones have laid what) have laid about 15 eggs in the last few months, none of them fertile (the current male is new; I previously had a very young male in with them). They continue to be active and eager to eat, in contrast to my AFT's and most of my adult leopard geckos who seem to be cooling themselves.
Is it safe to cool the bandeds if they're stil mating and laying? My plan would be to stop feeding them now for about 10 days and then to turn down the heat. Will the gravid female(s) re-absorb their eggs? Will they become egg bound if I cool them? Will cooling help the male become less amorous? Unfortunately I just don't have another place to keep the male at the moment.
