my female gecko has been ready to lay her eggs for about a week now and i've been checking for her eggs every day. one morning i checked her humid nest box and there was nothing but when i got home from work there was two eggs in the nesting box. the only thing i was worried about was that one of the two geckos proceeded to bury the eggs and nesting box full of moss with sand. when i found the eggs they looked kind of wrinkled and dehydrated. i took them out and put them in the vermiculite and into the incubator right away. will they be ok?
That really doesn't sound very good. It depends on just how wrinkled the eggs look. Firm? Soft? I have had eggs look a little funky with like a dent or strange color and turnout fertile. I guess you will know in a few days. They are most likely infertile. That often happens when a female lays eggs for the first time. U have any pics?
yeah the dents are starting to go away and the color of the eggs is staying what seems to be normal so i'm just going to wait it out and see what happens. as far as firmness goes, they aren't really soft but the aren't rock hard, just slightly squishy i guess.
