Default How old C. variegatus have to be before properly sexing?

Hello all, this is my first post but, I have been gathering information on the site for years. I have hatched my first banded geckos a couple weeks ago. I was wondering how long its going to take to sex these little guys. I used an old worm cup with 25% sand 75% coco fiber in the cool end of the terrarium. Temps fluctuated a bit in the beginning never going below 82 or above 85 degrees, I managed to find the perfect spot for a constant 83. They hatched at 46 to 50 days. From all the post I have read (a reply by "alecfeldman" in particular) would leave me to believe they would be female. Its been about two weeks and it amazes me how much they have grown almost doubled in size. After a close inspection after feeding tonight I have noticed little tiny spurs at the base of the tale on both of them. This is what has me stumped. My females have little tiny spurs, but do the spurs showing up this early mean that these are males? I hope they are female but I'm happy no matter Any input or experiences would be great. Thanks a bunch -Jeff

I'm going to keep going for a second....sorry if I type/spell bad I'm not a writer. If anyone else was interested I also have a trio of fatties and leos! I'm interested in all animals, but am fascinated by eyelid geckos. Boom! Introduction and first post in one, look forward to hearing from you.

I have hatched 8 variegatus so far this year since the end of March. I incubate at 81-83 and so far my leos have all been female. Out of the 8, one showed spurs at 6-8 weeks and also had a much thicker and sturdier build than the others, so I guess I got 1 male. Of the remaining ones, one escaped in its first week so I don't know the gender, 3 are definitely female, 1 is probably female but was born 6/15 so I'm not entirely sure and the final 2 were born July 4th weekend and are too small to sex, however one is significantly bigger than the other. This is my first successful season with coleonyx. I'm also drowning in baby leos and hatched my first fattie last week.
