wetbox for C. elegans
Hi there.
My female C. elegans is slowly getting old enough to get male company. So I'd like to be prepared and make a wetbox, but I have a few questions:
-I plan to get a plastic box which would give the female enough room to turn around comfortably, but with a low "ceiling". Correct or not?
-should I fill it with a mixture of sand/soil or vermiculite or something else?
-should the entrance-hole be on the side or in the lid, or doesn't that matter at all?
-is one box enough or should there be more? I only got one female.
And one more general question: do you keep the male with the female(s) at all times or do you separate them? If yes, for how long?
Thanks for your advice!
Berit
