Default Cyrts cannabals?

Just curious if eggs hatch out in a tank and you only find one baby is it possible the adults ate it?

Well I just find it curious that a secretive neonate would be out in the day unless I just happened to catch it hatching. I have pics, but lost my camera somewhere.
