Here's my blog on Albie my Tremper Albino.

Here's Albie about a month ago. She was a Petco buy so she was a lot smaller when I bought her a month prior to this pic...

Here's Albie now (08/25). I'm guessing she's about 3 months old now. She looked to be about a month or so when bought...

She seems to be growing longer a lot faster than she is wider. She's more than tripled her weight in 2 months and also doubled in length. It's probably unlikely but I'm beginning to think she may be a giant. She eats a lot but doesn't seem to be gaining tail width... just a lot of length. She's over 6 inches now at such a young age, but very slender...

Just a little update in the past two weeks we've had Goldie. She's put on a tremendous amount of weight and her coloring's brightening. I haven't quite picked up a scale yet so I don't know the exact weight differences but I'm gettin there... Soon... Hopefully. lol.

Here's Goldie when I picked her up on the August 5th...

]

And here she is last night on the 17th...

I was a lot closer to her when I took the first pic so it doesn't seem like she's gotten bigger, but believe me, she has. Her tail's also gotten noticably fatter. Not quite where it should be but getting there.

She's also showing ZERO impaction. :) I got rid of that the first week.

Sooo... her impaction's gone, she's gained a good amount of weight, she's getting color back, and she's happy. :) That makes me happy. :) Yay!

UPDATE 09/02

Can't tell too great from pics but she's growin...

Well I found an ad on craigslist of a woman who needed to home her Leo. She apparently didn't want her anymore. (Poor girl... the Leo, not the lady)...

Well I found an ad on craigslist of a woman who needed to home her Leo. She apparently didn't want her anymore. (Poor girl... the Leo, not the lady) She wanted to get rid of her so bad that she gave Goldie along with everything she had... Her Exo-Terra tank, bowls, logs, and a brand new never opened moist cave! (The free and new equipment has me almost as excited as the free Leo! lol) And she sure came out of her house quickly and pretty much just stuffed her in my car! (Like go... take her now! lol) She said she was relieved I was taking her and thanked me A LOT... lol. I actually was the more thankful one! Free beautiful Leo and more equipment to add to my never ending collection of tanks and pet knick knacks!

Anyway, of course she was on sand so I got rid of that the second I got to Dan's. That pick up was on Tuesday by the way. Unfortunately I was at his house until last night so I was unable to get her on a UTH until then. (Which by the way she didn't have) And to think, she's had this Leo for 2 years... On sand, no UTH and it looks as if she doesn't feed her very often. She's not horribly skinny or anything but she's a bit teeny to be 2 years old! She's the size of my 6 month old Tang!

But get this. She must've been hungry as when I got home, I quickly got rid of the sand and fixed up her temporary tank that she came in. (Moving her to another tank when I got home) So I do all that to get ready to feed her and she how she is doing with her appetite... You know... moving stress, a little impaction, and horrible past living situation and all...

So I throw in 5 crickets... Chomps them down in less than a minute... Throw in 5 more, and again, chomps those down in a couple minutes. So again, another 5 crickets. And here I'm thinking ok, she's got to be done. She'll probably eat one or two of these... But nope. The second one cricket hit the floor, she was right on it. She ate 15 crickets in less than 5 minutes. I didn't want to overfeed so I waited til the next day to feed her again. And again... 17 crickets in less than 10 minutes! This girl was hungry! I can't imagine how little she was fed with the previous owner!

Anyway, here she is. There's no justice with phone cameras. She's really a bright yellow with very light brown spots (as opposed to black) and a tint of orange all around. Very brightly colored Leo.

And again...

The 10 and 20 gallons started piling up quite a bit in my room (In addition to one tall vivarium and one tall terrarium) so I decided to get a big tank and divide it in four for my Leos. It's not quite in its "final" stage yet as I still have to do a few things. (Put in thermostats, buy more bowls, etc...) For the moment, I have my four Leo's in their own section as I'm quarantining and monitoring their feeding but I'll most likely take one divider out and stick my two females together in half the tank by themselves and leave my male and unknown in each of the smaller sections.

Just in case anyone's wondering about the heating... There's two 10G heat pads exactly in the middle of the two outer dividers dividing the heat equally among both of the left two and right two sections... That cost me a pretty penny.

I'll be breeding these gals next year to a new Enigma male I'm getting this week so I'm getting started on a breeding rack too... You get done with one thing, then ya gotta start another. ;-)

So yeah... just thought I'd share since I was all happy I finally got all this stuff done.

I found a guy selling a 55 gallon tank and I'm picking it up today. Why so excited? Cuz I'm getting the tank and stand for $35. The picture in the ad shows it to be pretty clean and in great condition. It was originally $50 but that was with all his fish equipment and since I'm not taking all the other stuff he's giving me just the tank and stand for $35. Yay me!

Oh and another reason I'm stoked is because last year I sold my 29G and stand AND my 55G and stand not thinking I was gonna get more pets this year that needed a long tank... Been looking since I got more geckos last month.

I do have a 155G but of course, too big for my geckos. That used to house my 8" pacus and oscars... I had to get rid of them last year due to moving issues. :( That broke my heart. That's also when I got rid of like 5 other tanks...

So yeah, I've been looking forever for a deal on a long tank and patience paid off. Good thing I passed up on all those old crusty looking 29s and 55s that people were selling for like $100... (People come on, at least clean the tank before taking pics!)

I'm bored at work so I figured I'd start an account here since I read a lot of the stuff here on this forum...

Anyway, my name is Sandra and I...

I'm bored at work so I figured I'd start an account here since I read a lot of the stuff here on this forum...

Anyway, my name is Sandra and I live in Southern California. I have two kids who in the past couple months have added to our collection of reptiles. Four new Leos!

I've kept and bred Leos as a child through the late teens but haven't had one in a few years. I recently decided to start breeding them again and get my 8 year old son (possibly 5 year old daughter too!) into herps, especially Leos since well you know... they're the coolest ever.

Before our previous 4 purchases of Leos, we did have a few herps already. We have 2 Western Fence (WC) Lizards in an awesome Exo-Terra type tall terrarium and 1 adult and 8 juvenile Pacific Tree/Chorus Frogs in a cool vivarium.

Back when I was a kid there wasn't all these awesome morphs like they have these days so I should catch up on all the genetics and such... lol. Although I do know quite a bit about genetics so it should be no problem.

Anyway, most won't like this but I did end up getting my first one a couple months ago at Petco. Why? Because I'm an adult and can pretty much make my own decisions. :) So no harping from anti-Petco activists please. I'm a grown woman and don't need the whole Petco lecture. My husband is a manager there so I got first dibs on shipment day before they got to the floor... So really... technically they weren't even Petco's yet. Freshly shipped from their breeder. (And besides, they take good care of their Leos there anyway)

Anyway, I ended up with the cleanest looking Tremper I've ever seen at any Petco... He was a couple weeks (yeah, still young) when we got him so he's a couple of months old now. We named him Albie. Yes, original I know.

A week after that they'd gotten in an SHT(maybe CT) that the guy couldn't care for anymore and they were going to adopt him out... Guess who gets first dibs on adoptions? Yep, employees! lol. So I grabbed him. He's about 5 months old now and boy is he an eater. And another original name... Tang.

Anyway, so this week I decided to buy some REAL Leos (not that Petco's are fake or anything...) and searched for a local breeder and found one that wants to get rid of his whole stock. I ended up buying two babies from him and am buying a couple more next week. The two I did get from him are both females. One Mack Snow, and one Blizzard.

Next week I'll most likely get a Mack Snow het Tremper and an adult Blazing from him too.

I'm thinking I want to start on a few projects next year when the little gals reach maturity. I'm thinking a Sunglow project and Mack Snow (Tremper) Albino one too. The Albino Mack Snow is a definite as I've been wanting one of those pretty bad.

I'll most likely dabble in some Blazings as well since I have the starting genetics... In the long run I'm probably gonna go for Diablo Blancos too. Just have to find me a pretty RAPTOR.

Here's some pics of my guy and gals.

This is Snow, our female Mack Snow.

Blizzy, our female Blizzard

Took pic out, will put back soon...

Albie, our unsexed Tremper.

And Tang, our male SHT(CT?) He's shedding...

So yeah... those are our latest additions to our herp family.

By the way, I'm getting the links to those photobucket pics from my phone because my work blocks photobucket... So I have NO idea how they look on the computer as they only show up as little white squares here on my computer at work... I don't know if this site resizes pics. Hopefully they do or you might see a humungous picture that's unsized... I'll be checking this at home but before then WYSIWYG... lol.
