Default Malaysian Cat Gecko (question)

Dear Friends,

I want to seek professional advise.

2 months ago, I bought a pair of malaysian cat gecko, they were housed individually with setup same as in the caresheet part of this forum.

The male is doing well all the time, but the female started to stay in her house about 2 weeks ago with eyes closed most of the time and refused to eat, I noticed also there are 2 white things under her belly (I think eggs), one on the middle of the body and the other is somewhere lower.

Is there any problem..... Please advise.

Thanks alot.

If she's gravid and ready to lay soon, it's not uncommon for females to stop eating for a while. Other things that could cause changes in behavior are temps being to high or to low, humidity levels not being correct, etc. Make sure that not only are their husbandry issues being met...but being met consistently.

Dear Ethan,

2 days back, I got 2 eggs from this female and I am very happy, since it has resumed eating and actively moving around at night, yes, those husbandry, humidity and temperature requirements are achieved consistently.

With regards,
Alexander

Hi Sommer,

I would like to share pictures as well. But my card reader is having problem, so I cannot download pictures.

I will revert same after fixing the problem. But I cannot guarantee that I can take picture when they hatch as I have to work as well.

I will revert with setup pictures as well.

Thanks for your concern.

I'm glad to hear that everything worked out ok. It's a pretty common occurrence. Congrats on the eggs. Now comes the long wait for them to hatch!

Alexander, They can take anywhere from 90-120 days depending on the temperature, etc. The cooler the temps, the longer the incubation.
