Default Cat Gecko Questions:

Hi All,
I may have asked these questions before but I can't find the threads. I am looking into getting Cat Geckos again, and I have a few questions about them before I get them.

First: I know they have to live alone (unless breeding, which as I remember is in 1-2 week periods and then they are separated), do you guys find that they prefer clear glass/plastic cages or more of a dark/tinted plastic container?

2. Also, what is the best thing to feed them?

3. What kind of cage decorations do you find they like the most, vines/grape vines/cork bark, etc?

4. And lastly, do you guys find that they like live or fake plants. If live, what kind of live plants?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer me,
-Armen

1. They can do well in a variety of enclosures. I use tubs for some, tanks for others, kritter keepers for babies. They like vertical space.

2. I feed mine mostly lateralis roaches and some crickets

3. I find that they'll climb on most anything you give them from cork bark to bamboo to plants.

4. I use a mix of fake and live plants (usually something simple like pothos). The live plants I usually leave in their pots. The felinus seem to like to sleep in the pots. I think they feel safe there because they're up off the ground and covered up by the base of the plant.

Thanks for all the info!
Also, can these guys tolerate temps in the 70's in the summer (daytime temps of course).

THANKS!
